Privacy Policy

Armory (“we”) places particular importance on protecting your personal data, especially since our service involves a sensitive area: the ownership of firearms by sport shooters. This page explains, in simple terms, what information we collect, why we collect it, and your rights.

1. Who is the data controller?

The data controller is the publisher of the Armory website, an individual acting in a non-professional capacity (pseudonym: Matt; see the legal notice). Contact: contact@armory-os.com.

2. What data do we collect?

• Account information: email address, username, country of residence, password (stored only in encrypted and irreversible form).
• Usage data you enter: your gear (weapons, counters, maintenance, sessions, accessories), your photos, your avatar, and your posts and comments in the community.
• Reputation: Activity metrics (number of posts, comments, votes received, approved improvements) calculated automatically to determine your rank. They are based on your activity, never on sensitive data.
• Gunsmith Application (only if you are applying): the name of your gunsmith shop and professional documentation (KBIS extract, articles of incorporation), stored in a private area accessible only to you and the administrators.
• Minimum technical requirements: a session token stored in your browser’s local storage, required to stay logged in. No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, and no data resale. Any ads displayed on the site are self-hosted: they do not set cookies or trackers and do not transmit any data to ad networks.

3. Why (legal basis)?

• Providing the service (performance of the contract): managing your account, your shelf, and the community.
• Safety and moderation (legitimate interest): validation of content shared by administrators; combating abuse.
• Verification of the gun dealer's license (legitimate interest, at your request): review of supporting documents and contact with the registered gun shop.

3 bis. What We Do Not Collect on Purpose

No official documents related to firearms (SIA receipt, permit, personalized invoice, etc.) are collected or stored: we have deliberately excluded this feature, as these documents link a real identity to a firearm. Keep them at home, offline. Similarly, no serial numbers are requested.

Anonymity by design: The only directly identifying piece of information we hold is your email address. It is managed by the authentication layer, is never displayed publicly, is never associated with your visible contributions, and is never shared.

4. Who sees what?

Your workout plan, sessions, and interviews are strictly private: they are visible only to you (protection is enforced at the database level, not just on the interface). The community is reserved for logged-in members: your posts, comments, and suggestions for improvements are visible there, accompanied by your username, avatar, and rank. Administrators have access to the data necessary for moderating the community and verifying armorer applications.

Special note regarding images posted in the community: As with any forum, an image attached to a post is displayed “in the clear,” meaning a member can copy its URL and share it outside the platform. A warning reminds you of this when you post: Do not include anything you do not want to be shared (faces, addresses, license plates, documents, serial numbers).

5. Where is your data stored?

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., and the database is hosted by Supabase Inc. The database and files are hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest by the hosting provider (AES-256). The photos in your gallery are stored in a private space, accessible only via temporary, signed links generated for you.

6. How long?

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. Deleting your account (which you can do at any time from your profile) immediately deletes your profile, your favorites, your sessions, interviews, photos, and application documents. Your community posts are retained but anonymized.

7. Your Rights

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the rights to access, rectify, erase, transfer, and object. Most of these rights can be exercised directly within the app: editing your profile, exporting your data (downloadable file), and deleting your account can be found in the Profile tab. For any other requests: contact@armory-os.com. You may also file a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr).

8. Minors

Armory is intended for licensed sport shooters. Registration is limited to adults or minors who are licensed in accordance with applicable regulations, under the responsibility of their legal guardian.

9. Changes to This Policy

This policy may change as the service evolves. The update date is shown at the top of the page; any significant changes will be noted in the app.
